Planning Application ref. 18/04064. Sun Inn.

The planning application in respect of the demolition of the Sun Inn and erection of 5 dwellings and associated car parking has now been validated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council following the submission of an amended Certificate of Ownership and plans.

Comments already submitted do not need to be re-submitted, however any new comments should be submitted to ERYC by 1st August.

VE Day Celebrations 2020

Special events will be taking place throughout the country during the weekend of 8th-10th May 2020 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

Skirlaugh Parish Council sponsors WW1 Memorial Silhouettes

Skirlaugh Parish Council sponsors WW1 Memorial Silhouettes

Skirlaugh Parish Council is very proud to sponsor two World War I Memorial Silhouettes to commemorate the centenary in 2018. These have now been permanently erected next to the clock. The names of the soldiers from the village have been added to the silhouettes, which were purchased with grant aid provided by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Front Garden Competition

The parish council is once again organising a front garden competition. Judging will take place from the roadside during the summer. The judges will be on the lookout for the most attractive front gardens. The parish council is very grateful to Tony Cook Ltd for their kind donation of a £20 voucher for the winning garden and two £5 vouchers for the runners up.
