Salt and grit bins

There are a number of salt/grit bins sited around the village. The parish council has a stock of road salt and arranges for the bins to be checked and refilled when necessary. The bins may be used by residents to spread the grit on paths, but please be aware that it should only be used on public areas not within private properties.

Jubilee Wood is open

Jubilee Wood is now open for all of Skirlaugh to enjoy. Skirlaugh Parish Council has been working towards making the area accessible for all and a safe place to visit. With safety in mind we would ask all visitors to abide by the following:

Parking on pavements

There is an increasing problem with vehicles being parked partly on the footpath. This causes an obstruction for pedestrians, in particular those in a wheelchair or mobility scooter and parents with a pushchair.

Dog Fouling

There have been numerous reports of dog fouling occurring in the village. If anyone notices fouling, please report this to the parish council with details of date, time and location. This information will be collated to identify any persistent problem areas and passed on to the ERYC dog warden. Reports can be made by email, telephone or in writing to the clerk, or through the WhatsApp group.
